Event Description:
Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo Buonarroti were two major artistic geniuses of the Renaissance. Although they often created images using similar subject matter, their creative approaches could not have been more dissimilar. This brief talk will compare and contrast several of their works as well as the artistic processes that led up to them. Clark, who holds a Ph.D. in Fine Arts from Texas Tech University, recently retired after having taught art and teacher education at universities in Texas, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and North Dakota. A practicing artist, she has maintained an active exhibition record for over 30 years and has received numerous awards for her work. She is an independent researcher, published author and international public speaker who currently conducts art workshops and curates exhibitions throughout Texas.
