Kerrville Public School Foundation (KPSF)
Part-Time | Monday–Friday, 5 hours/day
Reports to: KPSF Board of Directors
Position Overview
The Kerrville Public School Foundation (KPSF) seeks a visionary, results-oriented Executive Director to lead its development, communications, and operational efforts. This individual will work closely with the KPSF Board of Directors and Kerrville ISD to advance the Foundation’s mission of supporting educational excellence through strategic fundraising, community engagement, and program development.
Key Responsibilities
Development & Fundraising
· Help plan, direct, and supervise development programs for annual giving. Prospect and secure corporate sponsorships, individual donations, and foundational giving. This includes managing existing and new donors, deepening donor engagement via face-to-face meetings and other communications, and issuing letters and notes of recognition and gratitude to donors.
· Research and write grant proposals, manage a grants calendar, and manage deadlines.
· Ensure the effective execution of all KPSF fundraising and community events.
· Utilize KPSF’s donor software program to develop mailing lists, maintain and update donor database, plan events and campaigns, issue tax receipts, and create donor giving reports.
Marketing & Communications
· Develop, plan, and execute targeted marketing communications strategies by producing/posting written and multimedia content, email campaigns, events, social media, editorial content, and other communications. Act as a point of contact for media, crafting media relations materials as needed.
· Responsible for timely management of the KPSF website.
· Lead and manage the creation of annual reports and presentations including Year in Review, KPSF Impact Report, and KPSF update at KISD Board of Trustees meeting.
Board & Volunteer Engagement
· Coordinate meetings of the KPSF Board of Directors and maintain timely communication with board members, donors, KISD, and volunteers.
· Help recruit and manage volunteer leadership.
· Provide support and advice to board members and volunteer committees regarding communications, operations, development, event and program timelines, strategic plan, policies and procedures, donor information, and budgets.
Operations & Administration
· Pay bills, make bank deposits and work with KPSF Treasurer to ensure proper accounting of transactions and tax compliance.
· Manage insurance and other vendor contracts.
· Maintain legal and accounting records, including meeting minutes, by-laws, and policies and procedures.
· Work with KPSF investment advisor to ensure proper management of endowed accounts and timely reporting of investment results to board members.
· Perform all administrative tasks necessary in maintaining outstanding donor relations, effective funds management, and thriving operating programs. A successful executive director will have the ability to communicate KPSF’s mission, operating programs, and financial results and an understanding of KPSF’s by-laws and operating policies and procedures.
Community Engagement
· Represent KPSF at public events and professional meetings, and foster strong relationships with community stakeholders.
· Maintain consistent communication with donors, Kerrville ISD, volunteers, and board members.
Additional Duties
· Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the KPSF Board of Directors to support the Foundation’s mission.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) and a minimum of five years of relevant experience.
· Proven knowledge of nonprofit operations, fundraising, and marketing best practices.
· Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and proposal writing.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); ability to learn new software quickly.
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Ability to provide up to three (3) professional references upon request.
