Evelyn Flores was named the inaugural Miss Kerrfest last May, and ushered in yet another level of entertainment to the already exciting Kerrfest event.  Miss Flores is an honor student at Tivy High School in Kerrville, and is an athlete as well, playing both volleyball and softball.  Miss Flores is also active in the Kerr County Stock Show.  As part of Evelyn's ambition, she entered as a contestant in the Miss Kerrfest competition and the committee named her the inaugural Queen.
Kerrfest has quickly become one of the most anticipated community events in the Kerrville area.  As Kerrville's only community rodeo the Kerrville Area Chamber of Commerce is proud of the event's rapid success.  Kerrfest will be held again this year on May 15th - 17th at the Kerrville Youth Event Center on Hwy. 27.  The event is packed with fun family activities for just about all tastes.  From the chili and BBQ competition, to a home brew competition, open pro rodeo, team roping, kids' activities, vendor booths, and new this year the Zoofari, a full educational exotic animal petting zoo.
The Miss Kerrfest committee is accepting applications right now for this year's competition and offers the queen a $750 scholarship with $500 for princess and $250 for duchess.  Contact Rene Curtis at rene5669@gmail.com to receive an application or stop by the Kerrville Area Chamber of Commerce.
The Kerrville Area Chamber of Commerce invites everyone to save the date on their calendar for Kerrfest this year.  Please contact Kristan Weaver at the Chamber (830- 896-1155) with any questions or visit the event website www.kerrfest.com.  Hope to see you all there!!
