"We are especially excited about the upcoming season, because the conductors and the board have chosen music ranging from Bach to rock and roll, that will appeal to all listeners," said Jay B. Dunnahoo, Conductor and Artistic Director. "We invite everyone to come out and help support something that has so much value in our community."
For its 13th full season, Symphony of the Hills will present five original concerts between October and May. Dates and details will be announced at the event.
The Symphony of the Hills is a 75-piece performing group that was formed in 2001 as an outgrowth of a Kerrville community orchestra formed by Schreiner University. The program is funded through season ticket sales, corporate and individual donations, grants and other assistance, and program advertising. Musicians come from the Hill Country area and include professionals, Schreiner University faculty, and advanced music students.
Its mission is to bring the community a modern Symphony Orchestra playing an expanded suite of great music for listeners' enjoyment and enrichment; to introduce young children to great music; and to support the development of the musical talents of young people throughout the community.
