The meeting begins at 12 noon on Monday, September 15 at the Union Church Building, 101 Travis Street in Kerrville. Meetings are open to the public and visitors are welcome.

Reitz has worked for the Wildlife Division with Texas Parks and Wildlife since 2005, serving as a wildlife biologist working with private landowners in Central Texas, and as a biologist on the Muse, Mason Mountain and Kerr Wildlife Management Areas. In 2018, he was hired as the Project Leader of Kerr and Mason Mountain WMAs. Throughout his career Reitz has been involved in wildlife research, and adaptive habitat management projects for game and non-game species. Major activities on the WMAs include white-tailed deer research, feral pig control research, Texas horned lizard restoration, and black-tailed prairie dog restoration along with prescribed fire, grazing systems, exotic and endangered species work.

The Kerr Wildlife Management Area is owned and operated by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. It was purchased in fee title by the State of Texas (Game, Fish and Oyster Commission) in 1950 from the Presbyterian MO Ranch Assembly under the Pittman-Robertson Act using Federal Aid in Wildlife Restoration Program funds. The year 2025 represents 75 years of operation.

The Kerr WMA is located at the headwaters of the North Fork of the Guadalupe River - 2625 FM 1340. It contains 6,493 acres and was selected as a land base for the Edwards Plateau ecological area to develop and manage wildlife habitats and populations of indigenous wildlife species; provide a site where research of wildlife populations and habitat can be conducted under controlled conditions; and to provide public hunting (per a drawing system). There is public access which is open year around, and the website offers a map for a driving tour and birding.

The Kerr County Historical Commission was organized in October 1975 and is a part of Kerr County government operating with residents appointed by the Kerr County Commissioners Court. The work of the commission focuses on preservation of the historical heritage of the county; identifying historical buildings, sites or cemeteries; and recording and explaining information regarding the history of the county.
