REGISTRATION OPEN FOR 2014 FALL SPORTS PROGRAMS

Monday, July 14, 2014- (Kerrville, TX)

Football and Volleyball season is quickly approaching for the Kerr County YMCA. Registration is currently open for both programs. Interested parties can register online or by visiting the YMCA office at 1609 Sidney Baker St. (behind Peterson Middle School campus gyms).

For football, both Tackle and Flag football is available for boys and girls. Flag Football is for children 4-10 years of age by November 1, 2014. Tackle Football is for boys and girls ages 9-12 years old by November 1st. In the Tackle league, there will be a Junior and Senior division for ages 9-10 and 11-12, respectively. Both leagues will run on Saturdays beginning September 13, 2014 and run for 8 weeks, plus a playoff/tournament on the weekend of November 8 & 9. Flag & Tackle Football costs $80 to participate. Protective equipment for Tackle Football is available to rent through the YMCA for an additional $40; all Tackle participants must wear protective gear.

Volleyball is available for girls ages 8-13 years old by November 1st. This league will also run for 8 consecutive Saturdays beginning September 13th. The cost for the Fall Volleyball League is $80 and includes a team t-shirt for the participants. Shorts, knee pads, and other protective equipment must be provided by each participant.

The registration deadline for all three programs is August 22, 2014.

Skills assessment for football will take place on August 23, 2014 and is mandatory for all players. There will be no skills assessment for volleyball. Practices for football and volleyball will begin on or after September 2nd. Final games are on November 1st.

Closing Ceremonies for all sports will be on Sunday, November 9th, time TBD.

Individuals interested in coaching a team should register prior to August 15th. Coaching packets can be accessed online or at the YMCA office. Coaches must pass a criminal background check and complete required trainings.
