Texas Home Plans earns awards for Comanche Trace Tour of Homes
Texas Home Plans, a Kerrville, Texas based architectural and design firm, earned several top awards at the 2014 Texas Hill Country Tour of Homes at Comanche Trace recently.
Mickey Thompson, owner and primary designer for Texas Home Plans, accepted awards on behalf of his team for Best Architectural Design, Best Floor Plan, Best Master Bath, and others following the popular event held in June and July.
"Winning these awards is confirmation that we are providing industry-leading designs that are proven popular with both builders and clients," Thompson said.  "We are grateful for the recognition, especially when given on behalf of such a respected development as Comanche Trace."
The Tour featured eight homes that were judged in nine award categories, including Best Landscaping, Best Architectural Design, Best Craftsmanship, Best Kitchen, Best Master Suite, Best Outdoor Living Area, Best Floor Plan, Best Interior Design, and Best Overall Staging.  Each Tour home was evaluated by three independent industry professionals.
Comanche Trace is a master planned community located in the Texas Hill Country.  It features exclusive residential neighborhoods with amenities from a championship golf course to views of the Guadalupe River, according to Valerie Chambers, Event Coordinator for Comanche Trace.
"The quality of work from our architects, designers and builders has created a community of incomparable value in the Texas Hill Country," Chambers said.  "Texas Home Plans has been a part of the growth in Comanche Trace for many years, and we are so pleased other industry professionals recognize the excellence in Mickey's work with the houses that were conferred awards this year."
Texas Home Plans is a regional custom home design firm with designs throughout Texas, plus nine other states.  The firm provides a variety of styles, including Texas Farm, ranch, German, and mission.  Their homes have won numerous awards in Texas and Arkansas.  Thompson has also been designated a Certified Green Professional by the National Association of Homebuilders.
"Our whole team greatly values how our clients' homes will look and function," Thompson said.  "We also value our relationships with these builders and developers who lead their fields."
Texas Home Plans is celebrating 20 years of home design and has recently launched an upgraded website (TexasHomePlans.com) which offers a number of downloads helpful for those thinking about building a new home.  These downloads include highly illustrated Plan Albums, High Performance Home Design Manual, and Design Questionnaires.
