UGRA General Manager, Ray Buck, presented at the CLE International Water Law Institute's 5th Annual Texas Water Law Conference held in San Antonio on March 27-28.  The conference offered professionals in Texas water related fields an opportunity to hear from water experts and leaders about the latest issues, projects, and politics that affect the region.  This year's conference focused on the Guadalupe and San Antonio River basins, the IH 35 corridor and the Carrizo Aquifer, conservation, the Eagle-Ford Shale play, the Hill Country and drought, and the Edwards Aquifer.
Mr. Buck reviewed the geography, water resources, and water use in the upper Guadalupe River basin as well as the impact of the drought on water resources. Mr. Buck also highlighted the importance of water supply planning and reviewed local strategies to meet future water needs.
"The current drought has raised the awareness for water supply planning.  To ensure our economy is not affected, state leaders and legislators are reviewing potential strategies for reallocating our water supplies.  It's imperative that we share our message with this larger audience so that we are not overlooked in the final solution," said Buck.
The Upper Guadalupe River Authority is the respected, efficient, responsive, and forthright steward of the Upper Guadalupe River and its tributaries.
